Lesley explains why she is taking part in Your Big Sleep Out.
“I had signed up to do the Launchpad Big Sleep Out in July and was very sad when they had to cancel it due to lack of numbers.
“So, I thought it would be great to still go ahead and I’m sleeping outside in my garden with my son Ryan, who’s 11, on Saturday, 6 July.
“I think Launchpad is an amazing charity in Reading and we both feel that we want to do something good for our community.
“I am keen for my son to understand what the charity does and for him to be a kind person and think about other people. Taking part in Your Big Sleep Out is the sort of thing that widens his mind a bit and makes him think a little bit further than his own life.”
This will be Lesley’s THIRD Big Sleep Out. She took part in 2017 (whilst pregnant!), then at home during Covid in 2020 with her son.
“I kind of know what to expect, but it is still a challenge. I hope other people will consider holding their own Big Sleep Out.”
