A team from Frasers taking part in a Big Sleep Out for Launchpad

Big office sleep out

Earlier this month our friends at Frasers Property UK in Reading held their own Big Sleep Out to raise funds for Launchpad.

Armed with blankets, sleeping bags, cosy clothes and mats, staff came together at The Cabin, Eskdale Road, Winnersh Triangle, and slept under the stars, in support of Launchpad and the work we do in help vulnerable people in housing crisis.

Whilst one night of sleeping outside is nothing like the real experience of being a rough sleeper, it does give people a tiny insight and helps us highlight the plight of Reading’s homeless.

Frasers has already raised more than £3,500 for us this year – but their journey is far from over and every contribution, large or small, makes a huge difference.

Fundraising means we can continue to provide vital information and support to individuals, couples, and families facing housing instability. Last year we supported over 1,100 people in housing crisis to rewrite their stories and regain independence.

Emma Birch, Frasers Head of HR, expressed her pride in the Frasers Property UK team and the partnership with Launchpad.

She said: “Events like the Big Sleep Out are more than just fundraisers – they’re opportunities to walk in the shoes of those in need. Our commitment to the community remains unshaken, and hand in hand with Launchpad, we’re working towards a brighter future for all.

“I am very proud of the Frasers Property UK team for their willingness to get stuck in and very grateful to Launchpad for their support.”

The team also thanked our brilliant ambassador Steve Scrace for the educational talk about our work and Kirsti Wilson our Head of Marketing and Fundraising for supporting them in organising their Big Sleep Out.

Kirsti said: “We were very excited when Frasers chose us as their charity of the year, and they are the first business in 2023 to organise a Big Sleep Out on their own site.

“It’s always fantastic when a local company decides to support a local charity, and we’d like to thank Fraser’s staff for their generosity and support. We’d love more businesses to get involved, so I would encourage people to get in touch if they’d like to do more.”
